Aka Gündüz´ün Osmanlı Donanma Cemiyeti´ne Yardım Hususunda İki `Açık Mektup´u

Osmanlı Donanma Cemiyeti (Donanma-yı Osmanî Muavenet-i Milliye Cemiyeti), 1909-1919 yılları arasında faaliyet yürüten millî bir cemiyettir. Dönemde vatanın korunması ve kurtarılması yolunda maddi-manevi büyük gayretler göstermiştir. Başta Osmanlı donanmasını güçlendirmek olmak üzere ekonomik, ticari, sosyal, kültürel pek çok faaliyeti gerçekleştirmiş ve millî bir cemiyet olarak tarihin kendisine yüklediği misyonu başarıyla yerine getirmiştir. Millî Edebiyat (1911-1923) Döneminin önemli aydınlarından olan Aka Gündüz (1885-1958), II. Meşrutiyet sonrası yıllarda aksiyoner kimliğiyle de öne çıkar. Milliyetçi, Türkçü bir çizgide yer alan Aka Gündüz, kalemini, Osmanlı Devleti´nin kurtuluşu ve yeni Türk devletinin kuruluşu yolunda korkusuzca kullanır. 1910´lu yıllarda Donanma Cemiyeti´ne yardım kampanyalarında da ön saftadır. Bu bağlamda dönemin önemli devlet adamlarından Gazi Ahmet Muhtar Paşa ve Mehmet Sait Paşa´ya hitaben ve her iki devlet adamını da Donanma Cemiyeti´ne yardım etme konusunda sert bir üslupla uyardığı iki `açık mektup´ yazar. 13 Ocak 1914 ve 18 Ocak 1914 tarihli bu iki açık mektubu, Gündüz´ün dönemin içerisinde sergilediği millî refleksler bağlamında değerlendirmek gerekir. Çalışmamızda, Aka Gündüz´ün tarihsel belge niteliği taşıyan iki açık mektubu `çeviri yazı´ olarak verilmiştir. Mektuplar, 1914´te Donanma Cemiyeti etrafında gelişen olaylar bağlamında ele alınmış ve içerdiği özellikler bakımından değerlendirilmiştir.

Ottoman Naval Society (Donanma-yı Osmanî Muavenet-i Milliye Cemiyeti) was a national society operating between 1909-1919. During the period, it made a great material and moral efforts for the protection and liberation of homeland. It carried out many economic, commercial, social and cultural activities, especially strengthening the Ottoman navy and as a national society, fulfilled the mission imposed by history successfully. Aka Gündüz (1885-1958), one of the important intellectuals of the National Literature Period (1911-1923), also stood out with his activist identity, in the years following Second Constitutional Monarchy. Aka Gündüz, who has a nationalist and Turkist line, used his pen fearlessly in the way of the liberation of the Ottoman Empire and the establishment of the new Turkish state. He was also at the forefront in the aid campaigns for the Naval Society in 1910s. In this context, he wrote two `open letters´ to Gazi Ahmet Muhtar Pasha and Mehmet Sait Pasha, who were the important statesmen of the period, and he warned both statesmen with a strong tune to make them help the Naval Society. These two open letters dated January 13, 1914 and January 18, 1914 should be considered in the context of the national reflexes that Gündüz displayed during the period. In our study, two open letters of Aka Gündüz, which are historical documents, are given as transcription texts. The letters were dealt with in the context of the events that took place around the Naval Society in 1914 and were evaluated in terms of their characteristics.
