A Turkish Commander in the Byzantine (Eastern Roman) Empire: Bardanes Tourkos and His Uprising
This article examines the uprising of a Turkish general, Bardanes Tourkos (Vartan the Turk) in the Byzantine Empire and presents that because Bardanes could not move his forces quickly he faced defeat.
