Turkish Power Wars in The Abbasids: Bečkem
The process starting with the recruitment of Turks in the Abbasid state positions got out of control over time, giving rise to new conflicts. Placed in the government positions on a regular basis to counterbalance Arabic and Persian subjects at first, Turks gained strength over time and became the most powerful components of the Abbasid Empire. In addition to the Turks forming guard units of the Caliphate, various provincial governorates and iqtas (fiefs) caused conflict among Turks. It is no doubt that one of the most important of them was the strife between Ebn Rāʾeq and Bečkem for the office of amīr-al-omarā. Although Bečkem prevailed in the end, an increasingly inactive institution of caliphate signaled that Turkish power struggles would continue in the upcoming years. This paper discussed the outcomes of the fight between Ebn Rāʾeq and Bečkem for Turks and Abbasids, and the position of Turks in the Abbasid state organization in line with the sources of this period.

Abbasilerde Türk İktidar Savaşları: Beckem
Türklerin Abbasi devlet kadrolarında istihdam edilmesiyle birlikte başlayan süreç, zamanla kontrolden çıkıp yeni mücadeleleri başlatmıştı. İlk etapta Arap ve İranlı unsurlara karşı denge oluşması maksadıyla devlet kadrolarına düzenli olarak yerleştirilen Türkler zamanla güçlenerek Abbasi Devleti´nin en güçlü unsurları haline geldiler. Hilafetin hassa birliklerini oluşturan Türklerin yanı sıra çeşitli bölge valilikleri ve iktalar Türkler arasında da mücadele başlatmıştı. Bu mücadelelerin en önemlilerinden biri şüphesiz emîrü´l-ümerâlık için İbn Râik´le Beckem arasında yaşanan çekişmelerdi. Neticede Beckem kazanmış olsa da giderek pasifleşen hilafet kurumu, Türk iktidar savaşlarının ileride de devam edeceğinin işaretiydi. Bu makalede, İbn Râik´le Beckem arasındaki mücadelenin Türkler ve Abbasiler adına neler getirdiği ve Türklerin Abbasi devlet teşkilatındaki konumları, dönemin kaynakları doğrultusunda ele alınmıştır.
