Edirne Yeni Saray´ın Arz Odası ve Kum Kasrı´nın 1171/1757-58 Yılı Onarımları

"Arz Odası" and "Kum Kasrı", which were located at the "Sand Square" of the "Sarây-ı Cedîd-i Âmire" in Edirne, have been emphasized and discussed in the Present Research. However, the both structures, which were built probably in the era of Mehmet-II, unfortunately did not arrive to the present day. Therefore, it is impossible to make a physical observation for the "Arz Odası" and the "Kum Kasrı". However, in the light of the information and data provided by the resources from the era and records of archive, the depiction and description of the both structures have also been made up to now. In the present Research however, we have focused on the both structures in the light of information provided by the records. In as much as the fact that repairing year of "1171 (H)/1757-58 (M)" was dated to the ruling years of the Sultan Mustafa III, however, the focus has been made on the repairs planned for building of "Arz Odası" and "Kum Kasrı". As is known, following Ahmed III's toppling from the throne, the Edirne Palace had lived away from its old glorious days for a long time due to its abandonment and seclusion for a long period. However, the repair on which we have focused had been started by the order of Mustafa III at the end of the said period elapsed. The Sultan, after being removed from the throne, ordered that the Palace should be repaired, saying that it had become a ruined condition. Within the coverage of repair, it was planned that a large part of the Palace should be repaired. As much as it is understood from the records, at that period the "Arz Odası" and "Kum Kasrı" were also in a ruined and devastated condition like other buildings in the Palace. Likewise, as much as it is understood from the records, the planned repair remained limited, which was not turned into a comprehensive repair. The most important reason for it however might be that the repair should have been completed as soon as possible since the Sultan Mustafa III would visit the Palace within a shortest possible time.

Bu çalışmada Edirne´deki Sarây-ı Cedîd-i Âmire´nin Kum Meydanı´nda bulunan Arz Odası ve Kum Kasrı üzerinde durulmuştur. Olasılıkla II. Mehmed döneminde inşa edilmiş olan her iki yapı da ne yazık ki günümüze ulaşamamıştır. Bundan dolayı Arz Odası ve Kum Kasrı için fiziksel bir gözlem yapmak mümkün değildir. Ancak bugüne kadar dönem kaynakları ve arşiv kayıtlarının sunduğu bilgiler ışığında iki yapının tasviri de yapılabilmiştir. Bu çalışmada ise kayıtların sunduğu bilgiler ışığında her iki yapı üzerinde durulmuştur. Bununla birlikte III. Mustafa´nın iktidar yıllarına tarihlenen 1171 (H.)/1757-58 (M.) yılı tamiratında Arz Odası ve Kum Kasrı´nda yapılması planlanan tamiratlara odaklanılmıştır. Bilindiği üzere III. Ahmed´in tahtan indirilmesinin ardından Edirne Saray´ı uzun bir süre terkedilmesi neticesinde eski görkemli günlerinden uzak bir süreç yaşamıştır. Üzerinde durulan tamirat da geçen bu sürenin sonunda III. Mustafa´nın emriyle başlatılmıştır. Sultan tahta çıktıktan sonra sarayın harap bir hale geldiğini söyleyerek, tamir edilmesini emretmiştir. Tamirat kapsamında sarayın büyük bir bölümünün tamir edilmesi planlanmıştır. Kayıtlardan anlaşıldığı kadarıyla bu dönemde saraydaki diğer yapılar gibi Arz Odası ile Kum Kasrı da harap bir haldedir. Yine kayıtlardan anlaşıldığı kadarıyla düşünülen tamirat sınırlı kalmış, kapsamlı bir tamirata dönüşmemiştir. Bunun en önemli nedeni ise Sultan III. Mustafa´nın kısa bir süre sonra sarayı ziyaret edeceğinden tamiratın çabucak bitirilmesi düşünülmüş olmalıdır.
