Kırklareli (Kırkkilise) Mekteb-i İdadisi

1892 yılında açılan Kırkkilise İdâdîsi, Osmanlı Devleti´nin son yarım yüzyılında bu kasaba ve çevresinde faaliyette bulunan en önemli eğitim müessesesi olması nedeniyle, yörenin yakın tarihinde kayda değer bir yere sahiptir. Esasen okulun tarihi, 1869-70´lerden itibaren bir rüşdiye olarak faaliyete geçişiyle başlamaktadır. Zira Kırkkilise Rüşdiyesi, öğrencileri, öğretmenlerinin büyük bir kısmı ve hatta binasıyla aynı kaldığı hâlde, yalnızca öğretim süresi ve ders programının değişimiyle idâdîye çevrilmiştir. Diğer beş yıllık idâdîler gibi Kırkkilise İdâdîsi´nin açılış gayesi de bulunduğu mahallin işlerini idare edebilecek, lider vasıflı bireyler yetiştirmekti. Buna uygun olarak, Kırkkilise´nin son dönem tarihinde mühim yerler edinmiş birçok kişi, eğitim hayatlarının bir bölümünde, önceleri kasabanın tek Müslüman rüşdiyesi sonraları da yegâne idâdîsi olan bu kurumda öğrenim görmüştür.

Kırkkilise High School which was opened in 1892 was fateful for the recent history of the region because in this region, it was the most important education intuitions in the last half century of the Ottoman Empire. Actually, the history of the school was begun with the opening as a middle school hence 1869-70´s because Kırkkilise Middle School was converted into the high school by means of changing the length of the time of the education and the syllabus although a big majority of the students and the teachers and even the building stayed the same. The aim of the Kırkkilise High School was growing up the persons who had sense of leadership. Therefore, a lot of people who was important for the recent history of the Kırkkilise had received education from this school which was the only Muslim High School in town in that time.
