Resmi Belgeler ve Basında "Menemen Olayı"

Polis, mahkeme ve Meclis kayitlarina dayanarak yazilan makale, ye Turkiye´nin Menemen Olayı (1930) nedeniyle cok partili siyasi hayata gecme deneyimini 15 yil ertemek zorunda kaldigi tezini sunmaktadir. 23Aralık 1930 günü gerçekleşen "Kubilay Olayı" ya da "Menemen Olayı" Türkiye tarihindeki en önemli olaylardan birisidir. Şeriat ilan ettikleri iddia edilen 6 esrar bağımlısının gerçekleştirdiği olayda Mustafa Fehmi "Kubilay" adlı bir yedek subay ve iki bekçi şehit olmuş ve olayı gerçekleştiren gruptan da 3 kişi öldürülmüştür. Olaydan sonra bölgede sıkıyönetim ilan edilmiş, Divan-ı Harp mahkemesi kurulmuş ve suçlu bulunan 28 kişi idam edilmiştir.

Relying on police, court and parliament records, this article argues that the Menemen Incident of 1930 caused Turkey to delay its transformation to multi-party politics for fifteen years. The "Kubilay Incident" or "Menemen Incident" on December 23, 1930, is one of the most significant events in the history of Turkey. Launched by six hashish addicts, who allegedly declared Sharia, military officer "Kubilay" Mustafa Fehmi and two night guards were killed along with three of the attackers. After the incident, martial law was declared in the region and a special court tried and punished 28 culprits with the death penalty.
