Dere-51 hane, Şecâeddin-30 hane, Cami-i Kebir-1 hane, Zâim-22 hane, Hoca İbrahim-7 hane, Debbağhane-i Cedid-4 hane, Daş Nerdiban-5 hane), toplam 223 hanede yaşadığı tahmin edilen Rum nüfusun sosyal ve ekonomik durumlarına dair veriler ortaya konulacaktır. Neticede; Tokat Rumlarının nüfus miktarı, hane reislerinin isimleri, nüfusun meslekî yapılanması, yıllık gelir-giderleri, devlete ödedikleri vergi miktarları, sahip oldukları emlak, arazi ve hayvanat miktarı tespit edilecek olup bu sayede Rum nüfusun Tokat´taki diğer gayrimüslim unsurlar ile sosyal ve ekonomik açıdan mukayesesi yapılacaktır.

Greek Population in Tokat During The Tanzimat Period

The focal point of Tanzimat innovations was the ideal of social equality in Ottoman society. In order for these high standards to be put into practice, a very comprehensive income determination was needed in the Ottoman country. For this purpose, in order to determine the state's population, real estate, land and zoo existence, at the beginning of 1840, the Taxation Authority was established. In this context, two series of fortune determinations were made in the Ottoman territory between 1840 and 1846. As a result of the records kept in these censuses, which are the most comprehensive real estate, terrestrial and zoological records of the Ottoman history, have emerged. These books, which have an indispensable prescription in the studies about the 19th century Ottoman history, provide detailed information about the social and economic life of the Ottoman State. The counting and writing of the Temettüat of Tokat was carried out in 1844-1845 (H.1260-1261). According to the Temettüat books, the amount of Greek population living in Tokat is estimated to be 1115 people. In this study, which is made by using the Temetuat books, the data about the social and economic status of the Greeks living in Tokat 16 neighborhoods, 223 households (Kâbe Mescidi-60 house. Yaşmeydan-16 house, Çilehane-1 house, Meydan-ı Müslim-4 house, Semerkand-3 house, Suiçmez-3 house, Menice-1 house, Soğukpınar-ı Müslim-6 house, Hoca Ahmed-9 house, Dere-51 house, Şecâeddin-30 house, Cami-i Kebir-1 house, Zâim-22 house, Hoca İbrahim-7 house, Debbağhane-i Cedid-4 house, Daş Nerdiban-5 house) will be revealed. As a result; The population of Tokat Greeks, the names of the household heads, the professional structure of the population, annual income-expenses, the amount of taxes paid to the state, the real estate, land and zoote amounts will be determined. Thus, the Greek population in Tokat will be compared with other non-Muslim elements in social and economic terms.
