Modern Mısır Eğitim Sisteminin Temelleri

Bu çalışma modern Mısır eğitim sisteminin 19. ve 20. yüzyıllarda geçirdiği dört oluşum dönemini incelemektedir. Kavalalı Mehmed Ali Paşa ve halefleri döneminde ordunun moderleştirilmesi ve doktor ihtiyaçlarının karşılanması amacıyla ilk defa geleneksel İslamî eğitim veren okulların yanına teknik modern okullar açılmıştır. İngiliz sömürgesi döneminde (1882-1922) eğitim İngilizlerin ihtiyaçlarına göre şekillenmiş, bağımsız krallık döneminde (1922-1952) işe eğitim sisteminde sürekli değişiklikler yapılması bir istikrarsızlığa sebep olmuştur. 1952´den bugüne uzanan Millî cumhuriyet döneminde ise 1980´lere kadar Arap sosyalizmi eğitim sisteminin merkezine yerleştirilmiş ve Mısır´da yetişen nesilleri etkisi altına almıştır.

This study examines the four periods of the modern Egyptian education system in the nineteenth and the twentieth centuries. In the first period in order to modernize the military and train more physicians Muhammad Ali Pasha and his successors for the first time introduced technical schools along with traditional Islamic educational institutions. During the British colonial rule (1882-1922), the Egyptian education system was shaped according to the British needs, while in the monarchy period (1922-52) new educational reforms being constantly introduced caused instability. Eventually in the national republic period, which reaches to today, Arab socialism became the dominant component of the education system and highly influenced generations of Egyptians.
