Bu çalışma XVI. yüzyıl İstanbul'unda Halveti tekke bâniliğini inceleyerek, bânilik üzerinden Halvetî tarikatının devletle ilişkilerini ortaya koymakta, Halvetilerin ehlisünnet dairesinde olmaları nedeniyle devlet idarecilerince desteklendiklerini ve böylelikle büyük tekkelere sahip olduklarını tespit etmektedir.

State and Tariqas in the Sixteenth Century Istanbul: The Role of Ruling Elite in the Construction of Khalwatiyya Convents
This article examines the patronage of the Khalwatiyya convents in sixteenth century Istanbul and sheds lights on the relationships between the state and the Sufi order of Khalwatiyya. The article argues that because the Khalwatiyya order is a branch of mainstream Sunni Islam, many Khalwatiyya convents were constructed with the support of the ruling elite.
