XVI. Yüzyıl Sonlarında Tomarza, Tomarza ve Kayseri Çevresinde Oğuzlar

Büyük Selçuklular döneminde Anadolu´nun fethi ile birlikte Anadolu´ya doğru büyük bir göç dalgası yaşanmıştır. Bu göçler sonucu Anadolu´ya gelen Türkler, gelmiş oldukları yerleri vatan olarak kabul edip yerleşmeye başlamışlardır. Göçler ile birlikte başta Anadolu Selçuklu ve Osmanlı Devleti olmak üzere birçok Türk devleti kurulmuştur. Bu dönemde Anadolu´nun birçok yeri gibi Tomarza ve Kayseri çevresine de Oğuz boyuna mensup Türkler yerleşerek, buraların Türkleşmesini ve İslamlaşmasını sağlamışlardır. Bunların bırakmış oldukları kültürel değerler günümüze kadar kesintisiz gelmiştir. Osmanlı dönemi için tahrir defterlerindeki veriler bu konuda bizlere gerekli bilgi ve belgeleri sunmaktadır. Tahrir defterlerinden bölgenin nüfusu, etnik yapısı, ekonomik durumu, üretilen ürünler gibi birçok konuda bilgi sahibi olmaktayız.

During the Seljuk period, with the conquest of Anatolia, a great immigration spread to Anatolia. Turks, who came to Anatolia as a result of these immigrations, regarded the places they settled as their homeland and started to live there. As a consequence of these migrations, they established several Turkish states in Anatolia, among which Ottomans and Seljuks are the most important. During this period, like many places in Anatolia, Kayseri and Tomarza were Turkificated and Islamized by the Oghuz Turks. The cultural values which they created have reached to the present day without interruption. The data in the Ottoman Tahrir books provides us with the necessary information and documents on this issue. We can learn a variety of subjects from Tahrir books such as the population of the region, ethnic structure, economic status, and manufactured products.
