Guenter Lewy, the Armenian Massacres in Ottoman Turkey: a Disputed Genocide

1915 olayları üzerinde yapılan çalışmaların sayısı son zamanlarda artmaktadır. Bunun sebebi, sadece bu çok tartışmalı olan konunun altında yatan siyasi imalar degildir. Ayrıca, çözülmesi güç olan bu konunun, akademisyenleri daha da üretmeye itmesidir. Guenter Lewy´nin bu çalışması, bu konuda son zamanlarda yapılan diğer çalısmalara bir cevap niteliğindedir ve konunun tarihyazımını yeniden ele alan ve `Ermeni Katliamları´nın tarihini yeniden insa eden bir diğer akademik eserdir.

Recent literature on the events of 1915 is growing fast not just because of the controversial character of the topic that may suggest further political implications but also because the insolvable nature of the subject invites scholars to produce more on it. Guenter Lewy´s study, partially in response to other recent studies, is yet another scholarly attempt to reconsider the historiographical debate and reconstruct the history of the `Armenian Massacres.´
