İlginç Bir Kadı Sicili: 1768-1774 Osmanlı-Rus Harbi'ne Dair Kayıtlar
Kadı sicilleri, Osmanlı sosyal tarih çalışmalarının mühim kaynakları arasında yer almaktadır. Ancak, bu makalenin konusunu teşkil eden İstanbul Kısmet-i Askeriye Mahkemesi´nin 316 numaralı sicili diğerlerinden tamamen farklı bir muhtevaya sahiptir. Bu sicil, 1768 yılında başlayan Osmanlı-Rus harbinin ilk yılına dair muhtelif kayıtların derlenmesiyle oluşmuştur. Osmanlı ve Rus taraflarının savaş hakkındaki beyannâmeleri, diğer devletlerle diplomatik yazışmaları, Yedikule´de hapsedilmiş Rus elçisinin takrirleri, Osmanlının Rus ordusu hakkında haber kaynakları, Leh müttefikleriyle Osmanlı idarecilerinin münasebetleri, geçmiş döneme ait bazı ahidnâmeler ve savaşla ilgili diğer hususlardaki belgeler, 86 varak uzunluğundaki sicilin içeriğini teşkil etmektedir. Araştırmada sicil hakkında genel bilgilerle birlikte tarafımızca hazırlanan fihriste yer verilerek seçilmiş bazı önemli kayıtlar neşredilmiştir.

A Curious Ottoman Court Register: Registers about the Ottoman-Russian War, 1768-1774
Court registers constitute one of the important sources of the field of Ottoman social history. The registers we analyze in this article -Istanbul Kısmet-i Askeriye Mahkemesi, no. 316-, however, differs from others in content; it is a compilation of miscellaneous entries, all belonging to the first year of the Ottoman-Russian War (1768). This register is composed of 86 folios and contains various documents on war and diplomacy. These include Ottoman and Russian official declarations of war, Ottoman diplomatic correspondence with foreign states, memoranda of the Russian ambassador kept in the dungeons Yedikule (Seven Towers), documents on Ottoman military intelligence about the Russian war efforts as well as on relations with the Polish ally, past treaties, and finally, documents concerning the ongoing war. A description of the register will be followed by the index of the entries we have prepared and a selection of entries, which, we deem, illustrate the importance of the register.
