XVI. Yüzyılda Siirt´in Sosyo Ekonomik Durumu

Bu çalışmada; Siirt´in 16. yüzyıldaki sosyo- ekonomik ve fiziki yapısı Osmanlı Arşiv kaynaklarından istifade edilerek ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. 1526 ve 1568 yıllarına ait iki tapu tahrir defterlerinden faydalanılmış ve Siirt´in 42 yıllık zaman dilimi içerisinde geçirmiş olduğu demografik değişimler, üretilen ürünler, halkın geçim kaynağı ve devletin temin ettiği vergiler ortaya konulmuştur. Bu değişimlerin daha iyi anlaşılabilmesi için elde edilen veriler tablo ve grafikler yardımıyla sistematik bir şekilde verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Siirt´in bölge içindeki önemini, iktisadi ve ekonomik durumunu kendisine yakın diğer şehirlerle mukayesesi yapılarak ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.

In this study, socio-economic and physical structure of the Siirt Province in the 16th century is presented by using the Ottoman archives. For this purpose, two land registry books were used, which were written in 1526 and 1568. This article is composed of three chapters apart from the introduction and conclusion chapters. In the first chapter, the demographic changes of Siirt underwent in 42 years of time are explained systematically by using tables and graphs. In the second chapter, the products that were produced in Siirt, people's means of living and taxes collected by the Ottoman Empire are discussed. In the third chapter, the physical structure of the Siirt province is revealed.
